A second round meeting was held in CUP between leading group of Karamay Branch, CUP Scientific Park on September 9, 2008. The infrastructural construction and supporting facilities for Karamay Branch has been finished by a one-year construction. By far, 35 enterprises have submitted entree letter. The entry of enterprises will begin in the 4th quarter of this year.
The Karamay Branch park of CUP Scientific Park was unveiled on August 10, 2007. The Karamay Branch is built to be a platform where CUP serves the economic development of Karamay city, to be a distributing center of high-tech, talents and information in west China for petroleum industry, to be a booster that helps transform the regional specific economy into regional predominant economy within Karamay and to be a Silicon Valley for petroleum industry.
To accelerate the development of the park, the Karamay municipal government invested about 0.2 billion RMB to construct the park on land of 3 square kilometers. The supporting facilities in the park have been constructed and standard factory buildings of 10,000 square meters have been finished. There are 40 joint scientific programs in the park now. |
